I don't believe in an image Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor has just started her career as an actor but in these couple of years, she has realized that she wants to evolve on a continuous basis. Self admittedly, she gets bored if she is asked to do the same thing repeatedly and when it comes to cinema, she wishes to explore different settings, genres and of course characters with every film of hers. CHECK OUT: Thankfully people don't look at me as just a pretty faceThis is why; if she was a shy Sakeena in SAAWARIYA, Sonam is a spirited youngster (who represents the youth of India - in her own words) in DELHI 6. Meanwhile, she insists that it isn't a definite image change that she is looking at by working on two contrasting films. So, is she conveying a message to the world out there that 'Hey, I too can have a lot of fun'? ''Honestly, it isn't anything like 'I wanna have fun'. The fact is that I don't believe in an image'', says Sonam who in last few days has gone through extensive photo shoots and press conferences en route to this Friday's release of DELHI 6. She adds, ''Cliched as it may sound but it's true for most actors to be just like a chameleon. You can be bored doing same the thing time and again and after a while, it isn't acting; it just turns out to be a job. I don't want that to happen to me.'' Sonam insists that she wants to follow her father's footsteps. ''I always want to be different in what I do. My father has also done the same thing in spite of being around for three decades'', she says with a certain pride in her voice, ''He has such an enviable repertoire of work behind him and the reason for that is that he has played around with his roles. I want the same for me and hence aim for doing something different in each of my films.''- view DELHI 6 videos- view DELHI 6 movie stills

SRK-V/s - Aamir
The media may wax eloquent about a cold war between Bollywood's two big Khans, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan. But both of them deny that there is any bad blood between them.
SRK laughed off his “spat” with Aamir as a joke. While addressing a 200-plus crowd at the Emporio Mall as a brand ambassador for Swiss watch brand Tag Heuer, SRK said, “I don't pick on Aamir. You guys (the media) make a big thing out of it. It's a joke, so we carry on with it. It's no big deal at all.” King Khan also added that he would talk to Aamir regarding the rumours about the “cold war” and clear it all himself.
Aamir Khan also seems to deal the "cold war" issue in a similar cool, nonchalant manner. Recently in Delhi to promote Ghajini, when asked about his “spat” with King Khan, Aamir responded: “Do you think I could dare to fight with Shahrukh? He is a good friend and so I can't fight with him. I respect him a lot.” When questioned about SRK's claim to be the biggest brand for whom there can be no competition, Aamir dismissed the question with, “I don't believe in competition with others. I only compete with myself.” Aamir joked that his forthcoming film's title Three Idiots should be rightfully given to the three Khans of Bollywood – himself, SRK and Salman.
Though both the Khans say that there is no “spat” between them and that the “cold war” was just an invention of the media, the actors did make public remarks against each other. What happened to all those remarks? Have they settled scores among themselves in private?
Whatever the case, both now seem to ready to bury the hatchet and that is to be welcomed!

BILLU BARBER ready to realese
There is a big release round the corner. And the name is BILLU BARBER. When the promotion of the film began around six weeks back, it seemed to be in line with that of any other regular medium budget film. There wasn't too much of hullabaloo being made and it was obvious that Shah Rukh Khan and his production company were aiming at a controlled release for this Irrfan Khan starrer. Then the songs started coming on air and one after another, we had Shah Rukh romancing with Kareena Kapoor (Marjaani), Deepika Padukone (Dekha Maine Dekha), Priyanka Chopra (Khudaaya Khair) and himself (Ae Yaa Oo)! when it seemed that BILLU BARBER wasn't exactly creating the kind of buzz that one expected from a film that had Shah Rukh Khan in an extended appearance, the publicity and marketing department struck hard with their game plan. And the result is that it is BILLU BARBER all over. Ok, so we are certainly not talking about a GHAJINI or a CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA deal here. It's not as if the film is being promoted as a blockbuster in the making with everything from a rickshaw to a jet screaming of BILLU BARBER. Still, from awareness perspective, good enough hype is being generated, something that augers well for the film that has been made on a medium budget and isn't one of your quintessential Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster material. Says a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan, ''The promotion was meant to take an organic route. There was no point promoting it as THE Shah Rukh Khan starrer. Come on, even the title is BILLU BARBER and not SAHIR SUPERSTAR (Shah Rukh Khan plays Sahir Khan, the Bollywood superstar, in the film). We don't want audience to come with any misconceptions, hence a planned approach and idea behind the promotion.''

'Dev D': reinventing the wheel -
Film: "Dev D"; Cast: Abhay Deol, Mahi Gill, Kalki Koechlin; Music: Amit Trivedi; Direction: Anurag Kashyap; Rating ***1/2 Whatever you do, do not fall in love. Love will consume you, embitter you, devastate you. Love will lead you to destruction. The past three generations have seen Devdas, adapted from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel, in some form or the other, the most recent being Sanjay Leela Bhansali's successful attempt in 2002. We already know the story inside out - or do we?Meet Anurag Kashyap's Dev (Abhay Doel)- he's brash, arrogant, ill-mannnered, demanding, lusty, impulsive and yes, self destructive. Meet Dev's Paro (Mahi Gill) - she's beautiful, doesn't mind sending snaps in the buff to her lover and breaks into a jig at her own wedding.Meet fate's abandoned Chanda (Kalki Koechlin) or Lenny as we are intially introduced to her as. She loves her parents, goes to school, and well...on the way meets her boyfriend who ends up doing a lewd MMS on her. Life is cruel and Lenny becomes Chanda or Chandramukhi as we know her. Please note - the girl still continues her education. It's not only that Kashyap has successfully stirred clear of drawing caricatures of the characters we already know, he's reinvented the wheel in other ways too. Sample this - it's not caste or class differences that separates the two young lovers, it's libido and a momentary lapse of reason. Dev never was in control and Paro's marriage gives him the trigger to go full throttle towards destruction. He comes to Delhi and walks into Paharganj. With the name of Paro on his lips, Dev crashes to sleep on Chanda's bed as she smokes a cigarette and watches him curiously. Love or 'emosanal atyachar'? While Punjab was the setting for the first half of the film, it's the bylanes and the bars of Paharganj where the action takes place in the second half. The editing is dizzy and effective, the music good in parts, the performances by all three lead actors are spot on - extra marks to Kalki. As you watch the film and see Dev steadily guzzle vodka and obsess about his lost love you wonder when he will hit rock bottom. But love is also known to set you free, uplift you, rescue you.So, go fall in love.
Make your own film: Rahman to Slumdog critics
Make your own film: Rahman to Slumdog critics -
New York: Oscar nominee A.R. Rahman has a polite suggestion for those in Bollywood who complain that the hit film "Slumdog Millionaire" casts India in a negative light with its depiction of poverty in Mumbai's slums: don't just criticise it but make your own film."In my opinion if creative people want to comment on a film, and if I were a director and felt that way, I would make another film and prove my point and say this is what India is about," Rahman told The Associated Press in an interview from Los Angeles before returning home to work on film scores before participating in the February 22 Oscars awards show. As for "Slumdog Millionaire", the noted Indian film music composer believes it is "a great statement of showing in a way the past reality and the growth of the economy in India, which all comes across beautifully". The 43-year-old Rahman has been hailed in India for his three Oscar nominations for "Slumdog Millionaire" -- for best original score and the songs "O ... Saya" and "Jai Ho". But the rags-to-riches saga of a Mumbai orphan who competes on India's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" quiz show received a controversial reception in India. Rahman refused to comment on a defamation lawsuit filed against him and actor Anil Kapoor, who plays the quizmaster in the film, by a Mumbai slum-dwellers' rights group alleging its members found the term "Slumdog" insulting.
